We are looking for that Oracle professional that wants to continue to develop and grow as an IT professional. This unique opportunity will allow an Oracle production DBA to continue managing a RAC environment while developing their skills as a development DBA. Eventually they will be involved with Data Warehousing and building out a production / testing environment. The environment is SuSE Linux.
Initially, you will be involved with managing a brand new RAC deployment. This will include administration of the Oracle 10g database that is currently approximately 50 gig with a 100 gig physical capacity. Duties will include backup and recovery, performance tuning, system administration and other tasks as they relate to maintaining an Oracle 10g database.
Perhaps more importantly, the ideal candidate will see this as an opportunity to mentor Junior DBAs and share knowledge with the team. Because of this, strong interpersonal skills are a must.

Your responsibilities will include one or more of the following areas:
Database Administration
Backup and recovery
Performance Optimisation
Assisting developers with Query optimisation
Production support including on call support
Upgrades,migration and installation support

| Qualifications |
To qualify, you must the following skills and attributes:
Bachelors Degree in Computer and Sciences or related fields
5 or more years of experience in working with Oracle database technologies of which 3 years should be as a production DBA
Oracle on Linux/Unix
Demonstrated practical knowledge of Oracle Administration in a Linux/Unix environment
Advanced knowledge of Oracle production DBA tasks (Oracle 10g )
Oracle RAC (Real Application Cluster)
Oracle ASM, Data Guard, Oracle Streams
Experience in database and system backup and recovery procedures
Understanding of TCP/IP networking principals
Understanding of multi-tiered web architectures
Understanding of application, hardware security and system security issues
Oracle Certification with work experience preferred but not required
Excellent English skills both verbal and written
